Chutney is an integral part of indian cuisine, which can be served along with an array of dishes from main course like pulav, biryani, naan or paratha, to appetizers like cutlets, pakoras/fritters, kebabs or chops.
It is an Indian or rather hindi name for sauce or dip, which is made using fruits, vegetables or many times with different kinds of herbs along with some seasoning spices.
Chutneys can be sweet, savory or spicy depending on the dishes being served with. It is often used to highlight a specific flavor profile or to provide clarity to the palate, all without putting too much effort.
With this thought in mind I thought to share my family recipe of a basic hari chutney or as we call it dhania lahsun ki chutney/cilantro garlic dip.
Cilantro , garlic, green chili for the spice and lemon juice all ground together to a thick sauce consistency, which goes well with most of the savory snacks.
