Red lentil fritters/masoor daal pakoda

These nights I struggle to sleep, the weather is dilated and the strangest thing in the city is silence (that I used to feel in my native hometown during the winter nights.) A silence, that I was craving for some time back in this bustling little town, but now the same is making me apprehensive about the consequences.

Or maybe it is taking back on the importance of believing in something during the dark moment of our lives. A glimmer of light, a firefly in the dark night, a hand stretched out in the storm of thought to hold you up.

All of us have our own belief, religious, spiritual or empirical but everything seems to be converging in one direction nowadays, towards a divine force that humanity seeks when everything else seems beyond reach.

As this pandemic (Covid19) has shuddered the whole world, it has also changed the global scenario. Maybe an indication towards changing our lifestyle, maybe it is time to pause and appreciate the little joys of life, that we often tend to ignore in search of the materialistic happiness.

Today is Saturday, let’s prepare a good lunch or snack and sit at the table with those we love. Even if nothing has changed, even if we have no reason, but let’s ‘celebrate life’ now, and be thankful for what we have.

I’m going to enjoy these hot, crunchy fritters and tea along with my family. How about you?

**This is made with red lentil, hence people following SCD can have it too.
